Moving to Colorado? 5 reasons you’ll love it!

There are so many reasons to become a Colorado Resident. If you are looking for a family friendly destination, you have to come see what CO has to offer. In this video, I’ll show you my top 5 reasons to move to Colorado. If we haven’t met before, I’m Daniela Hurtado, a bilingual Realtor that specializes in helping people relocate to CO. I am a transplant and I also have a family of my own so I understand how important it is to find the perfect place for you and your family. Stick around to hear my #1 reason why I’ve called this state my home for the last 11 years!

5. Strong Economy and low unemployment rate: One of the best reasons to move to CO is the great economy, ranked among the top in the country. It owns one of the highest gross domestic product in the US and you can see it reflected on the quality of people’s lives. The unemployment rate decreased over one 1% compared to one year ago. So if you are looking to move to a state with lots of opportunities I’m sure you’ll find the perfect job that fits your needs here.

4. Weather: This is a big one for me, I’m from Venezuela which is a South American country by the Caribbean sea that has warm weather all year long so when I thought of CO, I said ugh, freezing temperatures, snow, jackets, etc. But no, there is lots of sun that means lots of vitamin D to absorb. In fact, Colorado averages around 300 days of sunshine per year! This state has all 4 seasons but none of them will make you and your family feel tired or overwhelmed.

3. Healthy and Social life styles: CO is the least obese state in the nation with the best stats around for health and wellnes. If you are looking for fresh produce or looking for family activity, We have over 100 farmers markets between Spring and Fall. my favorite is the Pearl Farmers market. I love that they support locally owned businesses and their products are always fresh and delicious. Working out and exercising are part of most Coloradans lifes, we have countless sports, amenities and best of all, you can take it outside most of the time. Now, let’s talk about the social aspect. Whether it is a Concert or yoga on Red Rocks, or festivals in the mountains, the Mile High city offers many activities and interest for all age groups.. Not forget to mention ,The Centennial state is home to over 400 registered breweries. Featuring the Coors Brewery that offers free tours as well as tastings. Most of these breweries are kid/dog friendly. Fun right?

2. Outdoor Fun: According to researchers, spending time outside can be healing and beneficial for the body and mind. The Rocky mountains offer a year round opportunity to get outdoors and have fun! From skiing, snowshoeing, cycling, hiking, camping, and much more, your family won’t run out of things to do. This state is also ideal if you have pets. CO is the 2nd most pet friendly state falling behind Oregon. There are also lots of dog parks throughout the state that I’m sure your furry friends will love.

1. The People: It’s easy to feel like a local.. I like Coloradans independent and unique free spirit. Their willingness to accept everyone for who they are gives way to a friendly and open atmosphere. As an immigrant, that was very important for me. I’ve lived in this state for over 10 years and I have to say, I felt welcomed since day one and I’m so grateful about that. If you have kids, whether it’s at school, playground or sports, it’s very easy for them to make friends in any área you may live, so if you are social and like meeting people, you won’t be disaponinted.
